A partner to great-eating apples
The founding dates vary on paperwork, but one fact has never waivered – JP Sullivan has a commitment to work with the best New England and New York growers to provide apples to our customers.
In the 1920s, Joseph P Sullivan brought growers together for the common good of the marketplace. Much like today, power can be in the numbers.
With more volume and more varieties, growers could grow the reach and sales of their product – and JP Sullivan & Co. was born.
Shortly after founding, Edward O’Neill Sr., a law-degree graduate of Boston College, was naturally drawn back to his roots of selling vegetables from his wagon in his youth and joined Joseph Sullivan through a partnership.
O’Neill Sr soon owned JP Sullivan & Co. and his family continued in the apple business – expanding and innovating.
Today, JP Sullivan is made up of apple industry veterans. A third-generation O’Neill leads production and grower relationships cultivating the next generation. His team, from sales to production to quality control has some of the deepest apple lineages that would make today’s newest apple varieties blush.
